You all probably remember Chief, the tripod that was hit by a car in Taos. He went off to live the life RV-ing all over. Since he is possibly part border collie, he is a pretty high energy guy, though they hike a lot he would do better with a buddy to play with. He is super sweet, loves everyone, including the cat, knows basic commands and is crate trained. We would like to get him into a new home ASAP, but we would also consider a foster where he can be with (an)other dog(s). If you think you can give Chief a great home, give us a call 505-699-0334.

JFK-Just a Frightened Kitten is now JJ and ready for a special home. He arrived with a dislocated ankle, a massive bladder infection, and a genetic predisposition for uric acid stones. He was a bloody mess! He is now running around like any other kitten, neutered and done with his first year’s shots. He will need to be on a special diet and supplements for the rest of his life to keep his urinary tract healthy. He still has issues with loose stools, which may be related to the food. He will change over to a different food once grown and that may help. It would be best that he be an only cat. He is now about 5 months old and still quite small. He loves people! He sees the dogs but has no been allowed to interact so unsure how he will be with dogs.

PUPDATE! Willie now lives in Santa Fe! Wonderful couple met him and couldn’t say no. One-eyed Willie is up for adoption! He is a one year old pure bred Shih Tzu. He does have an adoption fee higher than most as this was an expensive rescue and he is a purebred. We don't see those often! We are accepting applications and will choose the best home once all are in. Email to: DogDaysofDixon@gmail.com. He likes cats and is good with most dogs. He can be a little growly with my resident male bulldog x, a bit jealous on both sides, good guard dog too, does great with the girls. He'd be fine as an only as he is a constant companion AKA velcro dog. Willie lost his eye when the neighbor’s dog went into heat. He dug under the fence to mate, she was not impressed and attacked him biting his head repeatedly and damaging his eye beyond repair. His owner knew she couldn’t keep him safe and surrendered him to us. He is neutered and UTD on shots.

ADOPTED!! We are now working with Petsense in Española to find homes for all of our kitties. We have kittens! These are numbers 4 & 5 of a stray litter from Taos. Just 5 or 6 weeks old. We don’t yet know genders but will soon. The kitten on the left does have an eye infection we have started treating immediately. They will stay for the week to heal and socialize and will be ready soon! Send us an email to: DogDaysofDixon@gmail.com or text to 505-699-0334 if interested.
